Press Release number: 01356SHEAR
Automatic and manual strip welding machines available from Shear-Form Ltd and sole UK representative for Swiss coil processing equipment manufacturer Soprem Automation AG are the most economical means of joining the strip end from a processed coil with the beginning of a new coil.
SOPREM variable speed SGA strip end TIG welding machines with automatic strip cutting, strip positioning and welding provide components fabricators using coil strip in their production with the capability to weld together 0.2mm – 1.5mm thick coils strip in widths up to 250mm using both DC and pulsed welding. This equipment is able to store up to 100 different welding parameters including start, main and end current flows. The integrated management control system provides the user with fast repetitive welding of different types of coil strip.
The variable speed BSM 3-phase, 230V, manual strip end TIG welding machine has the capability to join 0.2mm – 1,5mm coil strip in widths up to 250mm using both DC and pulse welding. Up to 100 different welding parameters can be stored, including several start and stop ramps. This machine, which is highly mobile, comes supplied with gas flow meter, cutting unit with cut-out die and an electrode grinder.

Press Release number: 01411SHEAR
The latest McKechnie 131-EC sheet edge de-burring machine available through Shear-Form Ltd, the sole UK representative for McKechnie International, Florida is ideal for removing burrs and scallops on a wide range of materials including mild steel, brass, galvanised steel and especially stainless steel, normally difficult to de-burr using other methods.
There are usually three problems created on straight edges using a CNC punching or nibbling machine, firstly a burr left on the bottom edge, secondly pips, nibs and microjoints on the 90° outside edge, which can cause mis-alignment when used in a press brake operation and thirdly, tool deformation marks on the top edge. The McKecknie 131-EC can eliminate all these problems in one single pass at speeds up to 20m. per minute on sheet material with thicknesses ranging from 0.5 – 6.6mmm and up to 1.5m wide using the outboard support with lockable clamps, which slide out nearly 750mm from the cutting tool. The sheet length is dependent on the capability of the operator, but lengths up to 2.5m can be easily handled.
A feature of this de-burrer is that it is 10 x times faster than using manual methods and is more cost effective as it uses only one pass to de-burr a straight edge producing a better finish and a return on investment between 68-100% annually.
Other features of this machine include two easy to use knobs on top of the machine to change the material thickness, setting so that the rollers grip the material. This is only required if the thickness varies by over 0.5mm. The programmed dimensions of the part being de-burred are not changed by using this machine. It is portable and mounted on 4 x casters. thereby can be easily moved from one part of the workshop to another.
